====== Daytona beach shores ====== Daytona Beach Shores was first organized in 1960 by local business leaders convinced that a smaller community could provide better services to its residents. The city was incorporated on April 22, 1960. In the 1970s and the 1980s, the city saw a massive building program. Now about 80 percent of the residents live in high-rise condominiums that stretch along the Atlantic Ocean. In 1997, residents voted in a straw ballot to limit the height of future buildings to 12 stories. The city council approved the height limit in 1998. A resort and retirement community built on tourism and the service industry, Daytona Beach Shores has no manufacturing industry, but caters to tourists year-round with miniature golf courses and other types of family entertainment ===== Useful Links ===== * [[http://www.dbshores.org/|Official website]] ===== Contacts ===== |Human Resources|(386) 763-5364| |Utility Billing|(386) 763-5326| |Permits and Code|(386) 763-5377| |City Planner|(386) 763-5361| |City Clerk|(386) 763-5364| |City Administration|(386) 763-5373| |Public Works|(386) 763-5351| |Animal Control|(386) 763-5377| |Community Center / Senior Center|(386) 763-7598| ===== City commission ===== [[http://www.dbshores.org/city-officials/|Click here for the city commission]]
